ExCroissance
Truck Stop, 2017
Ephemeral public art
Relais routier Petit, Ste-Hélène de Bagot
Presented in the context of the event Truck Stop, ExCroissance is an inflatable organic structure that grafts itself to Relais Routier Petit in the way a fungus would grow on a tree. ExCroissance give the impression of a strange parasitic growth appearing on the building. Not without recalling the science-fiction universe, the use of this ambiguous organic form amazes and destabilizes the viewer. By way of its size and location, the structure, which is visible from the highway, is a nod to the various monumental and bizarre structures that are found on this section of the Highway 20.
